Let us introduce you to Best Single Source Plus. The Best Single Source Plus (BSS Plus) program is dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness. The program is comprised of 12 local nonprofit partner agencies, with Caritas of Austin serving as the lead fiscal agent.
The BSS Plus Partner Agencies Are:

- Caritas of Austin
- Catholic Charities of Central Texas
- Family Eldercare
- Foundation for the Homeless
- Front Steps
- Goodwill of Central Texas
- LifeWorks
- Meals on Wheels Central Texas
- SAFE Alliance
- The Salvation Army
- Vivent Health
The BSS Plus Program can help alleviate some of the concerns landlords have about housing tenants who have had problems maintaining housing stability in the past. We realize that it can feel risky, but the BSS Plus program offers the following supports to our clients:
- Rental Assistance. We have funds to help pay for client’s rent, rental debt and even application fees, plus security deposits. Clients that remain in our program for an extended period of time can receive rental assistance for up to several months.
- Utility Assistance. To ensure that clients can pay their rent on time, we can assist with their utility payments, especially during those hot summer and cold weather months.
- Housing Supports. Clients who have lost belongings due to unforeseen circumstances, can rely on us to provide them with basic needs such as food and a warm bed to sleep in.
